  1. Hey there, pleased to find you on the internet! As the owner of a 97 Tiburon myself (they were called "Hyundai Coupes" in Australia) I have been watching that video for several years now. I get a real kick out of it and just happenned to come across your site here, and it looks like you're going to get another one started.

But that was four years ago as of writing this. Did you ever get your second build underway?

Congratulations on your first build though. I like the way you managed to preserve that distinctive growl those engines make, which sounds twice as good with two of them. I don't know whether it's due to the stock intake manifold, exhaust manifold, or the exhaust system, or a combination of them, but that slight growl is about as good a sound as 4 cylinder inlines get. Love it!

I am interested also as to whether you had any issues with getting each of the auto transmissions to take the torque those methanol turbo engines must have been dishing out. In my experience I've found those auto transmissions to be rather on the weak side. I've had yet another failure on one (merely running naturally aspirated) and am currently seeing if cryogenic processing will help to improve it. It seems to be the weakest link, as the engines themselves are pretty tough I've been told. Did you have any problems with your transmissions in that first Tiburon?
